PALM COAST, Fla (CBS Tampa) — A Florida woman was arrested after allegedly attacking her father because he wouldn’t give her potato salad.
Flagler County authorities charged Karen Henry with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for the Oct. 22 incident.
According to police reports obtained by CBS Tampa, Henry became enraged when her 80-year-old father told her that she could not have any of his potato salad while he was eating dinner.
Henry then grabbed a large kitchen knife, threatening her father with it. She waved the knife at him several times.
According to the report, the elderly man grabbed a chair to defend himself so he could call authorities.
Police say that while they were transporting Henry, she began complaining of abdominal pain. After her treatment at Florida Hospital Flagler, deputies overheard her on the phone asking her father to drop the charges. Another charge of tampering with a victim was added against her.
She was then transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility. She is being held there without bail.
