A new dishwasher. The one we have (it was in the house when we bought it) was a "less expensive model" and it's finally not doing it's job very well. We started to notice it awhile ago, but it's slowly getting worse. Plus, the rinse-aid stuff just leaks out so it goes through a lot of that and we're just tired of it. Decided to get a decent one this time. Plus Home Depot has 12 months same as cash financing on appliances, so it's hard to pass up free money to use. Only thing that sucks is it's on backorder, so we have to limp through with the old one for awhile longer.

Nice! Looks like a good upgrade, like the black finish too. Our townhouse came with a couple of Bosch appliances that are 10 years old now and running strong, I think they make really nice stuff.

New TV. Hopefully the picture is good. Started having problems with my old Ssmsung a couple months ago. Researched the specs via the model # and compared to current offerings. In my budget range (sub $600) there were only 2 candidates. A new 2020 58" and a new 2018 65" I went with the 58" as I honestly believe the 65" would be too big for my living room. Will go pick it up later this morning and give an update after its installed.

With a 24" barrel don't be worried about using heavy grain bullets, there will plenty of burn time to push them out there and maintain accuracy.
I like the Hornady 160 gr flex tip LEVERevolution. https://www.hornady.com/ammunition/rifle/30-30-win-160-gr-ftx-leverevolution#!/
Most 30-30 rounds have a blunt tip of exposed lead to make them safer to load in a tube magazine. The leverevolution soft rubber tip compress when loading for safety but aid in flatter trajectory and help expansion on impact.

How does it compare with Netflix?

I'll be watching Netflix and Amazon Prime video more often, since they have more stuff (right now) that I enjoy watching. More adult type stuff, horror and sci-fi stuff. However, if you want to see Marvel or Star Wars, including the newer series, then Disney+ is the only place you're going to find it. The same goes for the older Disney animated movies, like Dumbo and Cinderella. I believe all the old stuff is there. I know they had no plans to release The Watcher in the Woods or Song of the South on there, but those can be found by other means online. There are a few Marvel movies you can't find on Disney+, because the rights belong to other studios. That probably won't last long. All of the Pixar movies are there (Toy Story, Finding Nemo, etc), and National Geographic has some interesting junk on there.

I just went through a cursory search of the app and saw a lot of stuff I wasn't expecting. You really have to know title names and use the search function in the apps if there's something specific you want to watch pre-90s, unless it's Star Wars.

The Broadway musical Hamilton is on there.

If you're really into Disney/Marvel/Star Wars/Pixar/National Geographic stuff, or you have little kids, then it'll probably be worth the money.

Nope. If it wasn't on Netflix or Amazon Prime (and HBO via Prime Video Channels for a short 3 or 4 months), then I was borrowing it.

Anyway, I got a few Amazon gift cards for my birthday and I went hog wild: a pack of Gildan heavy cotton black t shirts to replace the ones with the holes in the armpits, a Fender t shirt, a Gadsden Flag patriotic t shirt, a Kydex holster for one of my handguns, a few Elmore Leonard books, and I reordered the Justified bluray set that didn't come the last time I ordered it. I figured I'd try again since I was really nasty to the UPS people when I was cussing them out for losing/stealing the first set, and they've been really good about getting the stuff I order to me quickly since then. We'll see how this goes. I know where the hub is and they know it.

Tips: if you can solve one of the puzzles that I've listed above, then you can solve all of them. The algorithms are all very similar, if not exactly the same. I usually shun Chinese stuff, but if you can get the stickerless cubes, they're a helluva lot better than the ones with the stickers on them. And speed cubes rock.

The standard 8500 model, but it's tricked out with a quad rail and a cheap telescoping bipod foregrip. I bought it at a gun show back before the general election in 2016. It was kind of a panic buy, but not really, because it was on my to-get list anyway. I figured I'd buy it just in case the Hillary-beast got elected instead of Trump. The Clintons have a thing for gun bans, and Biden does too, so I'll probably be buying one or two guns before this election, just in case.

The Clintons have a thing for gun bans, and Biden does too, so I'll probably be buying one or two guns before this election, just in case.

I have the 8529.

Wiper blades for my car
A bottle of boubon

Anyone have any thoughts on it? Seems to have a lot of good feedback for a $250 pistol.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've talked to a lot of people that like their Taurus guns. I've never heard of any problems, but I imagine that's because the people that I know that own them have only owned them for 1 to 3 years. So if they've got Glock reliability, only time will tell.

That's my take on them. Good and accurate for a small cheap pistol but for $250 bucks don't expect to run 10's of thousands of rounds through it.

I'm just looking for something for a budget CC pistol. Not committed to anything yet but this seems like a nice balance of size, capacity, reliability, etc. I think the newer version G3C comes with 3 12rd mags

You're not gonna see this until later, but it still has to be said: 9mm ammo is sold out practically every where online. You may have some bulk sales, but they're few and far between, and you can expect to pay at least double than what it would normally cost. The cost issue will hold if there are local retailers with 9mm in stock; they're gonna charge you out the ass for it. Demand is high, supply is low. Industry insiders say that things probably will not be back in stock until next year, and prices will probably take a little while to get back to normal. And that's assuming a Republican win in November. Things will be way different if the Dems win big. Like direly different.

You play?

I have a Kawai ES8 awaiting in South Australia. A real piano here in melb of course

yeah...its not my main instrument of course, but since I fancy myself as a jack of all trades, I try to be able to play any instrument at all. strings are easy since they all have common principles...I have a saxophone but dont quite remember finger patterns for woodwinds. I also have a digeridu that I got from a woodworker up in bridgewater vt, he was shocked and didnt believe me that I never played a didj before when I watched him play and mimicked it perfectly.

mom was in a top40/wedding band back in the day until I was like 7, she's still got that mehlin & sons grand piano in her living room. dad always had guitars, so I had music flowing early....I just wish I still had that old orange sparkle slingerland snare drum that her drummer gave me & my brother when we were kids

I dont read music or anything...I started to at one point but then was like yeah fk this, I dont really need it  but there's good tutorials and stuff on that Yamaha, ton of great features and full graded weighted keys on it.

that Kawai's pretty nice! I love how they were bragging about the weighting of the keys...my yamaha's keys are nicer than mom's grand piano, although that thing's worth an absolute shit ton more  grandparents bought it for her when she was a kid in the 60s!

Piano was my first foray into music. I think I was around 6-7. I did one recital, then we moved, and I never touched another piano. Wish I had kept it up. Around 10 or so i got into percussion. Did that into my early 20's. Then nothing at all until my first guitar in mid 40s.

But I still want an upright.

Cant remember who I was watching, old stuff, the guy literally had moveable keys just so that he could play stuff in different keys and not have to remember any other finger patterns  Only made me think of it cuz the guy had an upright. But when I first saw upright, I thought upright bass, I got onna those, too. $300 ebay special like 15 years ago! Its a flimsy instrument, but hey, its an upright bass

Treated myself to the new Oculus Quest 2. $399 (probably cheaper in USD) and it's blowing my fucking mind. I've tried VR units that cost more than triple this price but never bought one myself because of the price and need for a high end PC, but the tech is now far more affordable, and does not require a PC - the oculus store is full of great games and experiences completely wirelessly.

The resolution is extremely high and the controllers work wonderfully. You can grip and grab things, you can play shooting games and actually aim down sight and reload mags and all that like a real weapon. It has built in speakers and a mic to play with friends over the internet.

I could go on and on but you really just have to try it to get it. Been playing some silly games that are hilarious, or even just watching youtube on a giant screen that takes up your entire field of vision is a blast.

My wife and I tried this one game that's kind of like ultimate frisbee in zero gravity... I just about fell over at first. You definitely have to get past the motion sickness and ease into it, but the experience is unreal. Too much fun... highly recommend.

Disappointed in the musiclily bridge. It fits fine, and guess I cant really complain, but the posts have just a hair too much gap where the bridge slises on, allowing the bridge to tilt forward. The makes the g,b and e strings not have good contact with the saddles, deadening them. The old posts are much tighter, so much so i actually need to sand the. A tad. Too bad old posts are chrome and new bridge is nickle. Ill modify it later today and see then. Might be buying a Wilkinson bridge.

Which guitar did you install this on? Honestly, if you've got that much give in the posts and the bridge, that's a flaw and you should take it up with the manufacturer. I've noticed that the hardware isn't that costly, and I'd hate to say it, but this may be a case of "you pay for what you get".

Its a cheap aftermarket $12 bridge on the harley benton. Had a look at mounting it on the old posts last night. I'll have to shave a mm or so from the bottom of the bridge for it to fit properly. Just bugs me that the od posts are chrome, and the bridge is nickle.

Alright after having this for one month, I can say this is THE most fun I've had gaming with friends, and I've been gaming for 25+ years since I was very young.

We're playing this battle royal game where you and 2 friends jump into a map with 9 other teams and loot to find guns and gear, and try and be the last time alive as the map gets smaller with a death zone closing in. It's a game format that's been hot for a few years that I wasn't really into, but it's totally different in VR. You actually have to reload your weapon, inserting a mag (or shells in your shotgun), pull the charging handle or slide. You can aim down sight, throw grenades, revive your teammates by pulling out medical gear. You can also climb walls, bust through windows, paraglide around. But the goofiness is the best part. You wait for the round to start all in a main area with everyone all on open mics. I've seen stretching, dance parties... virtual handjobs, you name it. It's absolutely ridiculous what you can do in VR. I know people are excited about the new playstation and xbox, but for my money and only having a few hours to game a week these days, VR is way more fun.

Hopefully the current RAM isn't soldered in!

I have found 16 gig of RAM makes a big difference compared to my old laptop. I'm usually hovering around 9 or 10 gig in use when everything is open.

I have found 16 gig of RAM makes a big difference compared to my old laptop. I'm usually hovering around 9 or 10 gig in use when everything is open.

It's an older Toshiba laptop (P75-A7200) Core I7, Came with an empty second HDD slot, 8 gigs Ram and two empty RAM slots. Apparently there are 2X4gb sticks on the top of the MB that aren't accessible without fully dismantling, I finally after all these years decided to upgrade to 16GB.

I've been super pleased with this rig, Immediately put an SSD in it, moved the HDD to the second drive bay and haven't touched it since. I've never reformatted it either since I bought it new in late '13/early '14.

me and my buddies split 2 boxes of mystery discs, turned out to be a really good deal. 10 discs for $114 and there's a lot of $25-30 discs in there. finally starting to grok the numbering system for the discs, it goes something like

-distance (generally how thick the rim on the outside is, also goes into how hard you can throw it before you 'overpower' the disc)
-glide (how far its going to want to go before the disc does what its gonna do)
-how steep its going to turn over
-how quickly its going to turn over

and I can understand why these dudes have so many fuggin discs now

The former Governor of Texas, Ann Richards, was at a political dinner which was, of course, dominated by men. One of the male politicians started telling a story about a woman's breasts. The dutiful political wives averted their eyes as to show they were not listening to the conversation. When the story was over, the wives returned their gaze to the table. Ann Richards, being Ann Richards, looked around the table and, with perfect comedic timing, said "So. Ladies. Seen any good dicks lately?"

The Element is a pedal that takes back the very essence of the analogue reverb,
which is obtained by physically stimulating springs thanks to the guitar signal.
Simply. No artificials. No calculations.

I've been spinning in circles trying to decide on a mattress forever. After reading a zillion reviews (most of which I think are paid off) I went with Casper because of the Consumer Report (thanks reddit for posting screenshots online free) and because Casper has a real store I dropped into and the mattress seemed great. Found a $200 coupon on Honey and my AMEX was doing $200 back at Casper this week too so it felt like a deal. We'll see, 10 day return policy if it sucks.

Their harnesses are completely plug and play, there's no soldering required whatsoever. This particular harness is wired for the Gilmour mod, and I've got a set of Fender hot noiseless pickups that I bought a while back that I'm looking to put into my MIM.

I haven't installed everything just yet, but I've read through the literature that came with the harness and this thing is freakin' genius.
