SAN DIEGO — A man was arrested on felony vandalism charges after police said he damaged vehicles with a shovel in Skyline early Monday.
Officers were called to Jamacha Road near Beacon Drive at 2:05 a.m. after a truck driver called and said he encountered the man in the middle of the street, San Diego police said.
He told officers that when he drove by the man grabbed a shovel from the back of his truck and started hitting the vehicle with it, police said.
He then proceeded to strike other vehicles, smashing the back window of at least one, police said.
The man retreated to a second-story balcony where he threw a bottle filled with some kind of liquid at officers.
He was arrested after a short standoff at 2:45 a.m., police said.
His name has not been released.
