This is my local news station, Global BC. BC Children's hospital is a huge yearly lotto to raise money for our Children's Hospital. Our family buys tickets every year because it's an awesome cause and the prizes are just great....

This year though, the sports broadcaster for the news station that helps raise funds and does the draw actually WON the prize home  After checking to make sure the news station employee isn't excluded, he has actually won a prize home. This guy's daughter actually is a cancer survivor at age 4, and the winner is a huge supporter of Children's Hospital and charity. They just buy a ticket every year to help support like everyone. Great story.

That's too funny

I'm surprised there isn't anything in the rules preventing an employee or someone affiliated with the station from winning. That's a big disclaimer on almost every contest/lottery we have here in the States.

For sure! I was shocked too... I guess the lotto being put on by the Hospital isn't a close enough affiliation to the station that does the reporting for it. Usually 'a partner of...' is in the wordings but I guess not this time

Well good for him though...be interesting to find out if he took the cash or one of the houses and if he keeps working at the TV station.
