Most of my pics so far are just for reference...like I had a lot of info to take down and consider on the main 15,000uf 40V bigguns in the power supply, had to get tolerance and ripple current ratings, makes them hard to find and they're expensive since these ones have a high RC requirement, most other stuff like computer power supplies or welders that use these bigguns need low ripple....but ripple in this context is sorta part and parcel of the Neve sound....but most of the other caps are pretty straightforward. Thankfully the smaller tab style caps are of a design that doesnt really degrade, otherwise that would have double+'d the # of caps I had to replace. I'm just going w anything 100uf and above (except for power supply, all caps are done in that just on general principle.)

So that's ~8 for each power supply section, (x3)
8-10 in the board (monitors/mains)
and then a dozen in each EQ unit (top row of knobs...each EQ there's worth fuggin 2-3 g's alone)
aux bus (lower row of knobs, above the faders) have 8 or so

me and dave had to gulp and say no when this fuggin company offered us $40k for the thing without even so much as seeing it :lol: the yeti would haunt us from his grave if we did such a ridiculous thing :lol:

I'm super excited to get to work on this....we have people tell us our room is just about the best sounding room they've ever been in, I keep the drums tuned and offer instrument tuning and setup to bands that come and record...I just hope leo bass keep that rent paid :lol: cuz we dont make enough to rent the whole property. I keep telling dave we need to LLC up and open a garage, get a small storefront for those front rooms to bring in some more cash, and then record an assload of bands :dance:

admittedly, I have never played guitar in a metal band. unless you want to count that brief stint when I was 13 before our drummer made one of us take up the bass :lol: but on guitar I'm much more bluesy than my buddies, play half the time without a pick...I just fired some strings on my dime guitar and was playin along with sultans of swing yesterday :dance:

bands we've recorded so far have been metal, punk, ska-punk-ish.

Pretty close, normally when i pick up the geetar i'll play Zeppelin, The Who, Thin Lizzy, that kind of stuff.......... but i do play newer stuff too, Chilis, Green Day, some Metallica........ varies depending on my mood :) Quite often i'll stick Planet Rock on the radio and play along with whatever's on - luckily my 'ear' comes from my mothers side and not my tone-deaf dads side :lol:

I had my fill of metallica back in the day....7th, 8th grade I spent all my money on tab books and coupld play every note of every metallica song in existence, until I was so disgusted with it that I felt uncreative, and was more than happy to start playing bass when teh drummer demanded that one of us guitarists just play bass since we'd been through 3 bass players already.

I literally did not touch my guitar for two years after that.

The only metallica I still jam out to this day is fuggin Anesthesia :tup: Its actually a pretty tricky piece to play verbatim, lots of nuance in it, esp with the wah.

all metallica post Justice I simply refuse to listen to. the black album was so terrible, the other albums released, sooooo terrible...
