Belleville, Ill (KSDK) -- A man working for a tree trimming service died when he was pulled into a wood chipper in Belleville Friday morning.
Belleville Police say Richard A. Risinger, 54, of Alton, was working with a crew in front of a home near East Main and Michigan when the accident happened about 10 a.m.
Belleville Police Detective Mark Heffernan said Risinger's clothing got caught caught on a limb as he was feeding the limb into the wood chipper. The victim was pulled into the wood chipper. Risinger was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say Risinger was part of a crew of five or six who were working on the scene.
Investigators say it has been ruled an accident, but OSHA is investigating.
