Ya, Hockey is kind of a big deal up here

Every year a group of guys leave the city behind and head into the interior of British Columbia for a week of pond hockey. For up to 10 hours a day we play in all conditions and are willing to do anything to Make Hockey Happen. The passion for the sport...

Back where I used to live, there was a public pool that drained each year into this 200x100 foot drainage pond. That shit woud freeze each year and we would all get together an play each year. Now that I live on a lake, haven't played once :(

They built all that and then played on that crappy ice surface? :-s

Damn lazy Canadians shoulda built a Zamboni too [-(

:nana:

The river where I grew up would freeze pretty deep during the winter in Vermont (got a LOT colder than the -10C they mentioned in the vid, so it was safe to be on the ice on the river) and the ice surface was way better than what was on that lake/pond. We used to play hockey out there on the river every winter....good times.

Also, was that the Tragically Hip playing at the end of the vid? :-k

Yep, People on the other side get their 4 wheelers out and plow a section of the lake. They race dirtbikes etc on it.
