Yeah, it's weird why Wildfire needs to be rooted to do it the easy way...here's the hard way for you doublered.

for non-rooted phones,

Download the ff:

1 The Android software development kit (SDK)

2 The Java SE software development kit (SDK)

Install 2 (JAVA SE SDK).

Locate the Android SDK zip file, and extract it to your folder of choice.

Connect your phone to your laptop. USB debugging must be enabled to do so,

1 Press Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > and check the USB debugging option

2 Browse the Android SDK folder and run the SDK Setup.exe.

3 Hit refresh and let it update (all).

4 After updating locate Tools > DDMS.bat. This will launch a DOS cmd window and the DDM app.

5 On the DDM app, click on your device.

6 To take a screenshot simply press CTRL+S or click on Device < Screen Capture.
