A young South Side father appears in court today, charged with battery after posting a Facebook photo of his 22-month-old daughter bound and gagged, according to police..
Andre Curry was arrested Tuesday afternoon, hours after Chicago police and state welfare officials opened an investigation.
The photo, posted to Curry's Facebook profile and several other sites, shows a toddler bound and gagged with blue tape. Across the top of the photo are the words: "This is wut happens wen my baby hits me back.;)"
Police said the 21-year-old Appleby's waiter used painter's tape to bind and gag his daughter. It wasn't clear exactly when the picture was taken.
Curry, of the 6100 block of South Racine Avenue, was charged with aggravated domestic battery, police said.
He is expected to appear before a judge later today.

Appleby's? Is that a knock off of Applebee's or is the author just that stupid?

It blows my mind how parents can justify their actions of 'punishment' with babies...
that'll serve my 22 month old baby not to kick me again! :x

Yeah, duct tape over a small kids mouth....those are some serious fun and games right there
He did wink after saying it after all.
Just a thought... if the kid was not listening and hitting, time-outs were not working and she was acting like a little terror... would you say it was better for the father to spank/hit his child or tape her like that until she calms down?
To me I would rather tape my child than hit them. Not saying that I have or need to (because my kids are angles :))... just a thought

And what's wrong with spanking?

I would NEVER seal a baby's mouth with tape...in fun or otherwise.

My kids open handed slap me when I'm acting like a bitch...
And what's wrong with spanking?
I just don't agree with it. But I don't see how taping them is worse.
I agree with what hal said as far as taping the mouth, as that can be dangerous. I was more referring to the hands and feet

Children are horrible, if you can't afford the drugs to sedate them, something has to give.
