I was planning on just staying in. A girl I haven't seen in a while called me out of the blue and wants to spend it together. her, myself and 3 others in a 6 person hotel room that offers free shuttle rides to/from the nearby bar.

Happy New Year all! Didn't get back home until 4am...was the "house band" for a friend's home party. The friend, as he got drunker and drunker tried to outplay me - play all over my solos, etc. - he's ultra competitive, I'm not and is a semi-pro now, but I taught him all he knows and he's gone from there.

But enough was enough. So, sober me had to show him how it was done -- Hotel California, American Pie and a bunch of other Eagles, Buddy Holly and Crowded House tunes later, (not Beatles, that was too predictable) he passed out!

And my 9 year old daughter partied in the basement with kids her own age while using the Wii. Most fun for her was just creating little Wii avatars, never mind about the games. Drove home so only 1 beer at 9pm and a sip of champagne at Midnight.
