Driver Says Accident Was Caused by Singing

PEORIA, Ill.-- A 23-year-old Peoria man faces DUI charges after driving off the road and crashing into a stop sign.

Police say the man said he drove off the road because he got carried away singing the lyrics to Leonard Skynard's "Simple Man".

According to the police report, the driver's vehicle had extensive damage as a result and was towed from the scene.

The driver was charged with being under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

A court date has been scheduled for February 10.

I followed a group of girls in a car one morning while on the work commute and they were all singing and bopping away to Sweet Child of Mine.I had my radio on the same station and could see them singing along at times.

That whole car was rockin at some points...right up until their car lurched into the left lane of oncoming traffic.The driver recovered and I drove past tooting my horn giving them the thumbsup
