So this means that hackers don't need to get nearly as close anymore to use your bandwidth and break into your network? :-k

Mine's secured at home too...same as the WiFi I set up here at work. I have a program that randomly generates passwords so I set it to generate a 24 character password for our network here, with letters, numbers, and symbols. I gave it to my boss so he could use it and he looks at me and says "why is the code so long and difficult?"

No I agree, I thought it would be far more expensive. $150 for a good router is fairly average

It is an easy route to get more coverage by pumping more milliwatts into the box...

As fast as wireless tech is moving along, I won't move off G until next Nov at least.

Wireless N has already been surpassed by 802.11ac and it's successor is already being worked on.

I understood literally none of that

In a nutshell, they're taking old shelf tech, putting a super charger on it, and packaging it as new.

It will be outdated in 2 months. Literally.

It is outdated when it comes to the tech. Like you said, we are not fully on the N-standard and now CES brought AC and who knows what comes after that. Just like we are not fully on 3G all around the world, 4G is pushing out and the next step is already been worked on.

Most manufacturers are already pushing 802.11ac when wireless N hasn't even been fully implemented yet.

Belkin, qualcomm, etc.. are already making AC routers and adapters.
