A woman accused of carrying on a sexual relationship with a teen boy was convicted this week on lewd battery and molestation charges and sentenced to prison, records show.
Lori Szmuc, 44, was arrested in April after the 13-year-old boy told his mother that Szmuc had forced him to have sex with her, an arrest report states.
The boy told officers he, Szmuc and other people played a game similar to hide-and-seek called "Man Hunt" at her house on Dec. 31, 2010.
He said Szmuc hid with him, touched him inappropriately and kissed him on the lips. She later asked him to pretend to be her boyfriend, the report states.
"He would have to meet up with Szmuc and go on walks with her," the report states. "He also would have to send Szmuc text messages and give her compliments ."
Szmuc also told the boy he had to "fight for her and try to get her back" if she tried to leave him, the report shows.
In January 2011, Szmuc sent him a text message saying her parents were out of town and their apartment was available. The boy met her at the apartment and Szmuc "began having sexual intercourse with him," the report states.
A similar incident happened a second time at her parents' apartment, the report shows. The boy said he later told Szmuc he was tired of her demands and wanted to stop the relationship.
While he participated in an after-school activity at a nearby facility, he said Szmuc would show up and "stare at him, making him feel uncomfortable."
Szmuc was sentenced on Thursday to four years in prison, records show, on charges of lewd and lascivious battery and molestation. Several other charges were dropped.
After her prison term, records show, Szmuc will serve 10 years of sex offender probation. She was ordered to have no contact "whatsoever" with the victim.
