Cool, thanks! Still have to see most of those films

The only Best Picture nominee I've seen was Midnight in Paris. Watched it with the girlie and liked it a lot more than I expected to.

I keep meaning to see Moneyball but haven't yet. Looked good. As did Tinker Tailor, Ides of March, Descendants and a couple others

All I've heard about War Horse is that it's pretty underwhelming.

Pitt was good in Moneyball but I'd like to see Oldman win the Oscar. First time he's ever gotten an Academy nom. The man deserves it for this role. He plays it so well.

Oldmans one of my favorites... Ever since his role in 'the professional'..

To be honest, I really couldn't care less about the Academy Awards...they screw over good actors/films more often than they get things right.

I haven't ever forgiven them for snubbing Val Kilmer's portrayal of Doc Holiday in Tombstone. He didn't even get a nomination FFS.

I will be watching The Artist the weekend

They snubbed the shit out of billion-dollar Avatar though, you must have at least enjoyed that for what it was worth

Not sure I've ever watched the Academy Awards, I just figure the 'best picture' nominees are probably mostly worth giving a watch

It's because the movie wasn't good ;)

why don't they have a best comedy category?

Because as a rule, the Academy hates comedies

I saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldies, Spay and was underwhelmed.

Oldman was great (as usual), he deserves an award for any one of 5 roles if you ask me.
