LANCASTER A Lancaster man is accused of dangling a child above a pit bull earlier this month, police say.
Police arrested Michael Chavis Jr., 22, Wednesday morning. He is charged with third-degree assault and battery, Lancaster Police said.
The charges stem from Jan. 15, when officers were called to Hazel Street. Police say a man picked up a 5-year-old child and held the child above an "aggressive, chained pit bull."
Reports said children in the area had kicked dirt near the man's car and cursed at him before the incident, police said.
