MISSOULA — A report of a man searching for a bag of marijuana he thought he dropped near a Missoula motel eventually led to his arrest on drug charges.
Police arrested Joshua Roy Vires after they stopped his vehicle and found a bottle liquid methadone inside. Vires did not have a prescription for the methadone, which commonly is used to treat heroin addiction. Officers said there also were multiple pill bottles on the vehicle’s console.
A urine analysis indicated that Vires had recently consumed methadone, opiates, marijuana and benzodi-azepines, a psychoactive drug. Vires, 32, is on probation for a burglary conviction.
Justice of the Peace Karen Orzech set Vires’ bail at $25,000 during a hearing on Wednesday.
