WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. - Most people have had a bad neighbor once before who was slow to shovel or made a lot of noise, but one White Bear Lake neighborhood says it's had enough of one woman, known as the neighbor from -- well, you know where.

"We feel like hostages in our home," said Kimberly Hoffman.

Greg and Kimberly Hoffman told FOX 9 News that the little cul-de-sac called Homewood Lane feels like anything but home lately.

"The tension she has created has single-handedly turned this cul-de-sac into a ghost town," Hoffman said.

For the past three years, the Hoffmans have had a running battle with the neighbor across the street, Lori Christiansen.

Christiansen called police while FOX 9 News was reporting on this story, and it's not the first time they've been called to her home. In fact, police have been called 60 times in the last couple of years. A few months ago, officers hauled Christiansen off to the county work house after she violated a restraining order her neighbors took out.

Christiansen told FOX 9 News that she recieved a psychological evaluation while she was in the work house, and said she was told that she would not have been in her situation if she were a man.

The Hoffmans say they even began videotaping the bizarre signs Christiansen puts on her garage at the direction of police, like the one that says the guilty talk the loudest, or "I saw mommy kissing a breathalyzer," an apparent reference to the fact that Kimberly Hoffman is a recovering alcoholic.

"She also seems to have an issue with fat people," Hoffman said.

The Hoffman's say one of the worst moments happened while their 12-year-old son was having a birthday party.

"She started lifting her skirt, rubbing her crotch," Hoffman recalled.

Other neighbors confirmed the stories with FOX 9 News, but said they did not want to be identified to avoid making an enemy of Christiansen.
