Not gonna watch...we get those around here from time to time.
I hated doing computer wiring in old homes. They're mean buggers when disturbed.

Yes, they are venomous. A stubborn friend of mine lost his leg and eventually died from a bite. The venom rots the flesh.

I didn't see thousands of spiders.. I saw another animal planet/discovery channel over dramatization, with loops of the same 3 or 4 spiders crawling on the floor.. Getting to the point where I cant stand their pseudo science crap... They are just trying to tick peoples fears with this mess to peak interest and ultimately sell commercial slots.

We have Brown Recluse here in Virginia.. They arent exactly the spiders in Arachnophobia that Noilly makes them out to be... (love ya' Noilly ;) )

I know...love you too Muddy! :) But I have a healthy respect for a spider that if cornered will actually take a run at you. This I've seen firsthand in an old office I was running Cat5 cable in, in a basement that hadn't been opened up for a few years.
And, if you're unlucky and get bitten just once, the scenario that Richard C describes can play out...so I'm staying the hell away, thanks!
Best thing to do with these -- expose the place to VERY bright lights for at least a day. They'll vacate then.

They definitely are a fan of dark places..
These fuckers here, I will not mess with (even though they arent venomous)
