LAND O'LAKES — Last October, Gregory James Crawford was sentenced to a year in prison for stealing a laptop. Then on Monday, Pasco deputies filed new charges against Crawford after the computer's rightful owner found half-naked photos of a 13-year-old girl, taken through her bedroom window.
Crawford, 31, stole the laptop from an acquaintance in November 2010, said Pasco County Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll. Crawford was arrested in May 2011, charged with grand theft. He had changed the password, but gave it up when he returned the laptop, Doll said.
Doll did not give the exact number but said several photos of the child were on the laptop. He said the victim of the laptop theft turned the photos over to investigators.
Doll said the photos were taken from outside the girl's bedroom window, looking in.
Crawford left his prison cell at a medium-security facility and returned to the Land O'Lakes jail on Monday, where he was charged with video voyeurism on a victim less than 16.
