FORT WALTON BEACH — An 18-year-old man was pulled over for driving erratically while driving along Memorial Parkway.
The driver was pulled over and while talking with the office he agreed to have his vehicle searched, according to a Fort Walton Beach Police report.
During the search, the officer found a blue, metal pipe containing what he believed to be marijuana.
Immediately after the pipe was found, the 18-year-old said the contents were sunflower seeds, which he had attempted to smoke earlier that day.
A field test of the contents proved the pipe had marijuana inside it. The teenager told the officer "he had lied ... about the sunflower seeds because he did not want to go to jail."
