Our gallon is 4.54 litres.

Also, we have this absolutely ridiculous pricing cycle..... one day each week the price is relatively low but the following day it can jump as much as $0.40 - $0.50 per litre and then decrease again gradually daily to the cheap day again.

Join Fuel Rewards and you get 5¢ off per gallon, pay using the Shell app and save another 5¢ per gallon and once a week from T-Mobile I get 10¢ off per gallon to add to the Fuel Rewards app as a perk for being a customer, and then yesterday when I went to pay, an extra 25¢ off per gallon showed up when I opened the Shell app to pay at the pump, so I had 45¢ off per gallon Plus, I stop at this one station that is by far and away the cheapest for fuel I can find and it's on the way home, it's consistently between 30 to 50 cents per gallon cheaper than anywhere else, so I paid $2.609/gallon for fuel yesterday.

I do have to say, I kinda like being able to pay at the pump just using the Shell app. Pump gets authorized before I even get out of my truck.

Not sure what gas stations you have in your areas, but there are ways to save money. As I mentioned above, if you sign up for a free Fuel Rewards (https://www.fuelrewards.com) account AND pay with the Shell app using Shell's S-Pay in the app, you can save 10¢/gallon every time you fill up at a Shell station. Plus if you are a T-Mobile customer, you can get an extra 5¢/gallon once a week. To pay at the pump using the app, when you pull up to the pump, you open the app, tell it you want to pay, tell it the pump you are at, authorize the payment, and it activates the pump.

If you have Kum&Go (https://www.kumandgo.com/rewards/) stations in your area, if you pay for your gas through their app, after so many fill ups, you can earn 10¢ (or more) off per gallon. You pay at the pump the same way you do at Shell as I posted above

Gas Buddy (https://www.gasbuddy.com/pay) has a card you can use to pay with (use it like a debit card at the pump) to save gas at certain stations.

Maverik (https://www.maverik.com/rewards/) stations have their own Nitro Card that works like a debit card that you use at their stations and you save at a minimum of 6¢/gallon and they will automatically match any lower price at any competing station within a certain radius.

ExxonMobil (https://rewards.exxon.com/welcome/home) has a rewards system too to save 6¢/gallon when you sign up for their program and pay through the app.

Circle K (https://www.circlek.com/mobile-app) offers a rewards program as well.

I'm sure there are more out there if you check the websites of the gas stations in your area.

I haven't explored why fuel prices are so much higher in Europe (taxation I assume) and why you don't seem to bitch as much. I assumed it was because people work where they live and aren't as vehicle dependent as the US, and that you have better mass transit options, and are less spread out. Do people commute 40 miles each way there? Mine is now 9 miles, shortest commute I have ever had.

Used my GasBuddy card for the first time yesterday, it works in conjunction with the GasBuddy app. You link your checking account to the card and it basically becomes a debit card that can only be used at participating gas stations (which in my area seems to be most of them). You look on the app, find the places with the best prices/deals and then when you select that deal, you have 4 hours to use said deal. I misunderstood how it works because of the wording. I thought it was an instant savings at the pump, but it isn't. When you fill up, the pump still shows the price as posted at the station. So I was a bit disappointed at first that it didn't seem to work. But not too long after the fill up, I got the above receipt in my email.

So, since their card is the intermediary between the gas station and your account, the savings happens when they process the transaction, so you will in fact only be debited the advertised deal amount, not what it showed at the pump.

So far, so good since with prices steadily going up, every little bit helps especially when I don't really need to do anything special to get the discount.

$7.56 at our marina this morning.
I ran 70 miles to town on Sat and put $60 bucks in at $5.09. Not even 12 gallons in a 20 gallon tank. And I have to run back to town again end of the week. Then I may not leave the island again for awhile.

I get about the same out of a tank of gas, just under 300 miles if I really push it. Last fill up for me was $65.

My mini van has a 20 gallon tank, I haven't checked the mileage recently, but when I fill up and run it empty I'm getting two round trips home. Around 70 miles each way plus running errands. So lets just guess 320 miles on 18 gallons? So about 18MPG. These days I don't fill it up because it sits in a parking lot for 1-2 weeks at a time. Don't want someone stealing 100 bucks worth.

My Rendevous that's here on the island is only getting about 14MPG because it's never run more than 10 minutes at a time, (small island). I think it was getting 22+ with "normal" driving. My Camry I have no idea because I start it and shut it off 100 times a day at work and I don't pay for fuel and the pump we use doesn't have a meter.

Looks like it's stopped going down, at least in metro Denver. The price per gallon has gone back up about 25¢ over the last couple of weeks.

I think you have a little ways to go still. Earlier this summer, Mendocino, CA had a price of $9.60/gallon.

Well our overlords have decided that gas needs to go up so it’s at least $5.25/gal at Costco so add .15 - .30 for any other gas station saw it recently at $6.30/gal

I don't use a whole lot. Small Island. When I do need some I either try to time it for when I need to haul something over or if a friend is coming over with a car I'll have them bring me a couple cans. Currently have 3/4 tank and 7 gallons in reserve.
