TAMPA, Florida - A Tampa man is in critical condition after investigators say he was allegedly stabbed by his next-door neighbor Tuesday.

Police were called to a home on East Sligh Avenue around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, where they found 56-year-old Tony Jackson with a massive wound across his abdomen so deep internal organs were visible or even spilling out.

According to the criminal report affidavit, 30-year-old Steve Lott was taken into custody after calling 911 to report he'd cut his neighbor using "a big-ass knife" because his neighbor came into his home.

Investigators believe the two men had a long standing dispute, and Lott finally got fed up, walking over to his neighbor's property and allegedly stabbing him once.

Police say Lott resisted arrest and was tasered while being taken into custody. He later admitted he and his neighbor had a fight but denied stabbing Jackson.

Lott was booked into the Orient Road jail, charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and resisting an officer without violence. Prosecutors have asked for increased bond calling him a habitual violent offender.
