Reminds me of my '78 Fiesta. We never got the Escort that early. We got a bloated Americanized one...

Here's a similar vintage Escort Wagon, with stick-on woodgrain no less!

Sorry to put an ugly pic in a thread called car porn! Oh dear god, they were!

They had a 1.8 in them that was horribly geared. About 10 years a friend of mine would buy one of these in an auction for about $200, put on a temporary permit, and then go travelling across the country for the summer, then sell it for about $500. If it broke down, it was all part of the adventure.

Is the Capri a V6? Damn near bought one of those - it was cheap because it needed a piston and ring job and it still had torque like a freight train.

Pardon my OCD for a moment, it's not controllable,

Nice ride, love it, but God I fucking hate the samco hose kits.. Too much rubber (silicone) for a shit load of money. I much prefer aluminum tube for it all with just short straight pieces to terminate the connection. Nickle coated mild steel is pretty as well in place of a alum.

 agree there dude! they may not have been so bad had they not been such a contrasting colour. especially since theres more hose on show than there is engine :D
a nice cam cover would have been better to attract the eye

That brings back memories  I had a 2.8 Capri and a 20 year old 3L Capri in my younger days, the 3L was just great for frightening your passengers, you could kick out the back end round a corner and pull it back in again just as quick, made for some interesting driving.
