ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas Rangers are pitching a new menu item designed especially for heavy hitters.

When fans belly up to stadium concession areas on opening day on April 6, they will be able to purchase a one-pound hot dog priced at $26.

Sportservice, the club's concessionaire, introduced its new Champion Hot Dog on Friday. Officials say the dog can feed three to four people and will be topped with chili, sauteed onions and shredded cheese. It comes on 2 feet of bun.

Without tasting it myself and just going by your description my guess would be some sort of Brioche bun. It seems to be a fairly popular trend right now to use those on premium burgers. They are around the same density as normal hamburger buns, some lighter, some heavier but they provide another flavor profile to the orgasm of meat and cheese in your mouth. I could be wrong though. Every restaurant and distributor has their own specs and such.

It could be any bun. If you make bread from scratch (any kind) you can put an egg wash on top and turn it a beautiful golden brown like that.
