There will be all sorts of new mobile tech on display at MWC 2011 this month and you can be lots of that tech will have to do with Android. A company called Rightware (http://www.rightware.com/en/Press+Releases/) has announced that it will be on hand at MWC 2011 to show off a cool new stereoscopic 3D home screen for Android smartphones.

The 3D home screen is based on the Rightware Kanzi UI solution that has the ability to show sophisticated and complex 3D user interfaces and designs on a mobile device. The home screens using the 3D tech can be created using the Kanzi Studio design tool, which is PC-based, and then deployed to any Android device.

"Now, take a look at Android – the one you’ve never seen before – with a full stereoscopic 3D user experience. The world’s first fully functioning stereoscopic 3D home screen for Android is now up and running, and will be show-cased by Rightware at Mobile World Congress," said Tero Sarkkinen, CEO of Rightware.

I'm still not on board the whole 3D train yet

I am not either. It is interesting, though, how fast that train seems to be moving. Barely got it in the movies, now in home TVs and the next step is the phone. Everything is 3D soon enough. Wonder when it gets to a point when no one bothers to leave their homes cuz everything starts looking as alive and real as out in the real world.

I know, it's a little scary almost how hard they are pushing this. They don't even know what long-term exposure to 3D does to people yet. In the few studies that are out there, it's showing that it's not good to watch 3D stuff more than a few hours at a time or else it can really mess you up.

I think I'll pass on that. I don't need something else giving me headaches
