A Downsville man was arrested early Thursday and convicted on multiple charges including drug and firearm possession.
Police say Roddy D. White III was speeding on U.S. 80 near Camp Road when an officer stopped him.
According to the arrest affidavit, the officer told White to get out of his car. Police say that as he was getting out of the car, he placed pills from his pocket in the door.
The arresting officer said White had a strong odor of burnt marijuana, was constantly moving, had blood shot eyes, droopy eyelids and swayed as he stood.
Police say White admitted to having smoked marijuana and having taken Oxycodone just prior to the stop.
White was arrested for DWI prior to police searching his vehicle. Officers allegedly found a loaded 45- caliber semi-automatic pistol, a pipe “used for smoking drugs” and a zipper bag containing additional pipes, syringes, and suspected methamphetamines.
Police say that White submitted to a drug influence evaluation and showed to be under the influence of depressants, stimulants, narcotic analgesics and cannibus.
He was charged with DWI-second offense, speeding, improper lane usage, driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a firearm.
