NICEVILLE — A stranger called a 22-year-old man late one Saturday night and invited him to an alleged "social gathering." He did not identify himself.
The man decided to go to the "gathering," located at an apartment complex on Range Road in Niceville.
When he arrived he knocked on the door and was quickly held down by multiple people, who then began punching him and beating him over the head with an unknown object.
The partigoer suffered a concussion. One perpetrator was eventually identified from a photo lineup and has been charged with battery, causing great bodily harm. Their relationship, if any, was not determined.
