Only honors students at a school in southern China can study in classrooms equipped with air-conditioning systems.
According to a report on chinadaily.com, Shenzhen Binhe Middle and High School only fit classrooms where the smartest students study with AC units.
The other classes are left to make due with fans.
According to the report, students in regular classes tried to use their own money to buy air-conditioning systems but the plan was rejected by school administrators. Student also reportedly offered to pay for the electricity costs.
The electricity and AC in honors classes are paid for by the school, according to the report.
