ST. PAUL, Minn. - A St. Paul man faces nearly 8 years in prison after pleading guilty to his role in the 3 day-long beating and confinement of his live-in girlfriend.
Brandon Joshua Fourre, age 22, pled guilty to one count of Kidnapping and one count of Assault in the Second Degree Thursday in Ramsey County Court. As part of a plea agreement Fourre faces 57 months for the kidnapping charge and 36 months for the assault charge, totaling nearly 8 years in prison.
Fourre will also have to register as a sex offender for 10 years, and be subject to conditional release at the end of his 8 year sentence.
He will be sentenced July 26, 2012.
During Thursday's hearing Fourre admitted to terrorizing his former girlfriend, including duct taping her and confining her in the basement. He also admitted to causing the bruises that covered her from head to toe.
Prosecutors say St. Paul Police were called to Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury last January 31 to take an assault report from a woman identified as B.L.D. The victim stated that her live-in boyfriend, Fourre, accused her of being unfaithful and then repeatedly beat, verbally maligned and detained her at her home on the 900 block of Conway Drive in St. Paul.
The ordeal lasted from January 28 until the morning of January 31 when Fourre left for work. At one point, the defendant hit her with a wooden chair so hard that one of the legs broke off.
The criminal complaint filed against Fourre also states that the defendant beat her with a pool stick, put a shotgun to her head and repeatedly kicked her. Fourre obtained the victim's Facebook password and posted derogatory comments about her on her own page.
On January 31, he took the day off of work and had a friend drop off tea, honey and Ibuprofen because his voice and foot were sore from the ongoing verbal and physical abuse he was administering to the victim.
