Can't wait! Been watching the US Olympic Trails (I dont think the Canadian ones are televised). The gymnastics last night was awesome, as was the swimming. Looks like Phelps has some big competition from his teammate!

But you guys have to cheer on my buddy Luke in the 470 sailing at the games  Hope he and his partner do well.

Who cares? Women's volleyball uniforms = instant chubby.

:-k

You know I think they have some X-games events as well. Some BMX and skateboarding junk.

Supposedly, none of the gymnast girls from 2008 are coming back. Nastia didn't qualify.

And Natalie Coughlin didn't qualify for any individual swimming events. She only qualified for the team relay. I had a huge crush on her 4 years ago.

They always just call the games by their major city... the Vancouver Olympics were also in Richmond and Whistler. Beijing games were also in Hong Kong, Shenyang... The Turin games were spread out in several other towns.

and then we have the Aaron Cook problem ,ranked world number 1 in Taekwondo ,will he be taking part ? no ,his place has been given to the worlds number 59  the reason ,cook didn't think the way he was being trained was good enough ,so went alone and has now been left out

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18293446

and i also think that pro sportsmen like in the tennis and football should be able to take part

You Brits have been pissed about the London Olympics since I was there last about 8 years ago and they were just being bid on

I was kinda the same way a couple years ago here... but after they came to town, it was one of the best experiences of my life. Honestly, I want those 2 weeks back. Never had so much fun, felt so patriotic, been so proud of my city, or loved sports that much. It was an awesome experience from start to finish

Amen!

I wish Golf was going to be in the games this year! That's one thing I'm really excited for in 4 years.

I remember when I was back in high school when I was still walking and I was wrestling. When I got to the state tournament in my junior year, I was so certain that I would keep doing it and improve to the point that I'd go to the Olympic trials. I wanted to compete in the Olympics since I was a little kid. I think it was because my Dad was so into it, he watched it every year it was on and he was so patriotic (Vietnam veteran, go figure). I guess it kinda rubbed off on me.

Upon further review, there will be no skateboarding events at this year's summer olympics. Doesn't look like baseball or softball will be there either.

I sincerely hope the Olympics does not interfere with my routine/plans. TFL is notorious for cracking under high volumes of people. :(

That junk with the two female sprinters is complete horseshit. How the hell can you concede and say you're at peace when given the chance to runoff for an Olympic birth? Fighters fight until the end. Quitters concede. Why the hell did you even bother showing up for the trials in the first place?
