She was a soccer-loving mom and terrific teacher, a cop’s girlfriend and a quiet neighbor — until the madness before midnight that left her two helpless kids dead.

Lisette Bamenga forced her 5-year-old son and 4-month-old daughter to swill toxic wiper fluid. She used plastic and tape to seal up their apartment windows, and turned on the gas from her stove, police sources said.

Then she slashed her wrists and sat alone in their ninth-floor apartment, watching the life seep slowly out of Trevor Noel Jr. and adorable kid sister Lillian.

According to a source, Bamenga — in a message left near the two tiny bodies in the kitchen — wrote that the children “were going to a better place” after their deaths, a police source said. The note indicated that the French immigrant planned to kill herself inside the Noble Ave. apartment in Parkchester after the children were dead, the source said.

“We don’t know what happened,” said Robert Mpeke, 48, the woman’s brother, as her family gathered Friday outside the Bronx building turned house of horrors. “It’s just very hard.”

Sources said child welfare workers never had interaction with the family.

Bamenga’s boyfriend, rookie NYPD Officer Trevor Noel, returned from his Thursday night shift to find his two children dead, the mother of his children a suspect and his apartment a crime scene.

The devastated dad, assigned to the 28th Precinct in upper Manhattan, dissolved into tears at the news. Charges against the 29-year-old woman were expected, although the timetable was unclear.

Noel, 31, and his family moved into the apartment just two months ago; a police source indicated he and the kids’ mom had argued in the days before the botched suicide and slayings.

“There was domestic discord of some sort,” the source said. Hours after the slayings, Bamenga’s family wept in almost the same place as Noel had while NYPD investigators hauled out bags of evidence.

The tormented mother was brought to Jacobi Medical Center after cops bashed through the apartment’s door and found the unconscious and unresponsive children on the floor. Emergency workers tried desperately to revive the victims, but the little boy known as “Boogie” and his baby sister couldn’t be saved.
