ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A man that police had to shock with a Taser in a grocery store in late May is back in jail, this time after police said he attacked several people Monday, including a police officer.

According to the Roseburg police, Jose Ramon Garcia, 37, went to the emergency room just before 6:00 p.m. while he was intoxicated.

Police say the man asked hospital staff for cocaine, and then sat down in the waiting area.

A short time later, officers said Garcia walked up to a woman and punched her in the face.

Security held the man down until police arrived, and when they took Garcia into custody, officials say he refused to walk.

As authorities were carrying the man to the car, police said Garcia bit one of the officers on his leg hard enough to break the skin.

Jose was charged with assaulting a police officer, fourth degree assault, resisting arrest and more.

The officer was treated at the hospital.

Garcia is currently being held at the Douglas County Jail without bail.

This isn't Garcia's first run-in with the law. Back in May, officers responded to the duck pond next to a Fred Meyer store after reports that Garcia was harassing children.

They ended up shocking him with a Taser to take him into custody when they found him in Fred Meyer drinking a beer.

Garcia was also arrested in September of 2009 after police say he stole a taxi and hit another vehicle at a truck stop.

Officials said that after that incident, Garcia had a .21 blood-alcohol level.
