Though he later admitted there was no emergency, a Chicago man called police nonetheless to inquire as to why a downtown bar wouldn’t let him in.

Naperville Police Sgt. Gregg Bell said a 25-year-old-man of the 700 block of E. 130th Place in Chicago called 911 around 1:05 a.m. Saturday

“In his frustration he decided to call police,” Bell said, adding the man had tried to enter the bar several times after being kicked out earlier in the day. “I don’t know if he had gotten cut off or what the deal was.”

Bell said officers arrived and explained to the man “several times” that the bar had the right to refuse access to anyone. When officers asked the man if he was aware 911 was only for emergencies, Bell said, the man admitted his particular situation was not urgent.

The man was arrested on a charge of a false report to 911.
