The daughter of an elderly couple went to the Oak Lawn police station to discuss a problem about her parents’ neighbor on the 9700 block of South 50th Court. According to the report, the neighbor is placing mothballs under the fence into her parents’ yard. The daughter also believes that the neighbor placed dog feces on her parents’ driveway and sprayed an unknown substance on her tire. The neighbor wasn’t happy with previous complaints to the village inspector and Oak Lawn police about him storing items with a bad odor in has back yard. Police said the daughter brought in a box of mothballs to show police that that the product is toxic. She wanted the village to inform her neighbor of his improper use of mothballs. Police said the daughter has complained before about problems with her parents’ neighbor and told her it was a civil matter.
