MIDDLETOWN — An East Hampton man who allegedly said he would blow up a neighborhood with nuclear bombs pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana Friday in Middletown Superior Court.

Ralph Stone, 55, 15 Barbara Ave., was sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence and 18 months probation. Conditions of his probation include not possessing any weapons, to submit to any psychological testing ordered by the office of adult probation and if any medication is ordered that he takes it.

Stone said in court that he regularly sees a psychiatrist, who has never prescribed him medication.

According to police reports, officers from the East Hampton police department were dispatched to Stone’s home on Barbara Ave on Sept. 25, 2011, for reports that he was yelling threats out of his window. A neighbor told police Stone was yelling that he has nuclear bombs and weapons and he will “kill everyone,” police said.

Police heard screams from Stone’s house and loud sounds coming from a stereo, and Stone at first told police to go away, then opened the door. Police saw a rifle in the front closet, and asked Stone about the threats he was yelling.

Stone reportedly admitted to the threats and told police he could get “yellow cake uranium from the Koreans,” but that he didn’t have any at the time. He admitted to having weapons in the home, which police seized for safety reasons.

A rifle, two pellet guns and an air rifle were seized from two different closets. When police went to search an upstairs closet, officers found 21 planting pots, 17 of which had growing marijuana plants. The leaves were tested and came back as positive for marijuana, police said.

Police said Stone was not compliant with his prescribed medications, causing him to be “mentally unstable.” He was deemed to be a danger to himself and others. An emergency medical examination request was completed and Stone was taken to Middlesex Hospital.

Stone was originally charged with first-degree threatening, possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana, but those charges were nolled by the State Attorney’s office.

awesome how the second they enter your home they are "legally" entitled to search every nook and cranny in the place and bust you for anything and everything they have written in the book

I'd be suing them for illegal entry - if the ruckus was a public one, outside, wtf right do they have to enter his home, much less search every last bit of it.

They may have gone in and searched his place but the State Attorney's office threw out all the charges.
