A Tacoma man was upset that his neighbor’s daughter was trying to sneak out of the house so he fired a bullet to scare her back inside, police said.
The warning shot was fired about 2 a.m. in the 1900 block of N. G Street. Neighbors called 911 to report that they heard someone shooting a handgun and yelling about the gun.
When officers arrived, witnesses said they heard two men arguing and the older man claiming he had only fired a warning shot at the girl.
The alleged shooter was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault.
