My old boss mentioned he drove to Denver once...something about a ring road or similar where he didn't actually go into the city? I recall he mentioned tolls too..

Currently, there are 4 toll roads in the greater Houston area. The one that I drive on to work is a loop. It costs about 6 dollars a day (both ways) for me to get to the office. There are alternate routes (which I will be taking today when I leave, lol) but they are streets, not highway type roads. Lot's of traffic in rush hour and lots of stop lights. To travel that way adds about 15 extra miles (one way) and 30-45 minutes (one way) to the commute, so, it's cheaper to take the toll road.

Gonna talk to the boos in a few, may head out and swing by my Mom's work to visit with her and pick up some stuff for my yard.

This system uses different controls than I am used to, so have one of our other techs who is familiar with it on the way.

I just wish I knew what was causing the excessive memory usage. It goes up and down like a yo-yo and then it will suddenly max out causing the VPS to reboot. Meanwhile, the bandwidth used never changes, so I figure that it can't be our site that is the target of the DDoS attacks or else our bandwidth usage would be huge.

Yeah, I have never thought it could be this site attracting the DDoS. I mean... we have not had any threats or weird peeps signing up and spewing shit or anything like that to indicate someone would be angry with us. Must be someone else's site(s) that just unfortunately happens to be in our server rack/hosting company.

They should be able to detect that very very easily. Any proper hosting company has good detection systems and tools to fight back to prevent the DDoS from taking down all of the stuff on their servers. Especially if they were caught with their pants down the first time and they saw what kind of issues it caused, you'd think they had upped their readiness for to combat future attacks better...

I wanted to take tomorrow off...the beginning of the wek had calmed down a lot....then my boss took today off and tomorrow there will be nobody in the office, so who get's the shaft....me :|
