:lol: it lasted until 3 am this morning. We worked 12 hrs Sunday, if you can call being on standby waiting for a scaffold, work.
Went in at 7 yesterday morning and finished up at 3 am this morning. Got home a couple of hours ago.
One of the welders didn't show up until yesterday and then disappeared after lunch. One who worked Sunday had a job somewhere else he had to be at but came back yesterday afternoon to replace the one who was MIA. Another one who is an old friend of mine had a panic attack around midnight and had to be taken to the emergency room. What a job.
The good thing is I worked 32 hours, will get paid for 16 more for travel and get three days per diem. :dance2:

I'm working in the shop at the place where I worked in the office for for years, temporarily. Still applying for lots of jobs and networking. Something will come along eventually.
The emergencies will likely be more often since the utilities aren't budgeting preventative maintenance shutdowns, so they'll have more tube failures for lack of replacing the ones that need to be replaced.
The bunch I worked for this weekend have had emergency shutdowns almost every week all month. They haven't called me because I was still in a cast but now that it's off, I'll get to work most of them.

Exactly... I dont even receive a mailed bill anymore... They are electronically sent to my bank where I can view the bill and choose to pay it or not.. I get a freindly email reminder that says " A new bill has arrived from X in the amount of xx.xx"

Both neighbors on either side of me have crazy, yappy dogs.They bark at air and the owners take no action to train them.The neighbors 2 houses over recently got a large German Shepard puppy.The girl right next to me allows them to put their new dog in her yard.So I have 3 yappy dogs that won't respond to any commands and life goes on...

This past weekend the Shepard puppy was curled up the neighbor's backyard with two front broken legs.They figure he got hit by a car about 4 houses away from mine, then he somehow crawled home :(

Both my father and I have talked to the owner in the past, about how their dog, being right next to our yard jumps up on the fence and was ruining the top board because of his weight.He's a puppy but he's probably about 75 lbs and over 3 feet tall right now....

So some jerk off hit the dog and didn't even have the courtesy to stop and own up :x....I may complain here about the crazy dogs, but I love all animals.

It was dry this morning....and it's small hail, not snow. The roads are flooded in some areas because it rained so hard and then the hail backed up the storm drains. And there was a tornado sighted 5 miles from my apartment :|

That's one type of weather that really freaks me out.When it's hot in the summer and the air gets really still and has that ozone smell?
Then it hails....that's usually a precursor to a tornado (from what I've read) ...we typically don't get many here.

Had a few big ones north of us a few years back at Pine Lake...people died and structures were toasted :(

It gets really eerie when a super-cell thunderstorm rolls through. It rains really hard and then gets super calm suddenly. Everything has a yellowish hue to it. Then if the hail starts you know there is a big problem because usually just before a tornado hits, the hail shows up.

I've seen and felt the yellow air you're talking about.My old boss and I were standing outside here one night and he says - Get inside, it's gonna hail.And it started 5 minutes later throwing down huge hailstones.No tornado but we watched the clouds and saw the dark triangular formation north of us, descend out of the gray clouds ....
