Good to see you guys too. I've been popping in regularly but haven't had much time to post. Fooking real life is keeping me running a lot these days, I have some projects going up at a friends vacation property on an island a two hour trip from here, it takes a ton of planning in advance as once you're there the hardware store is a 45 minute boat ride ($17) +15 minute drive away and the boats only run every two hours. Going up weekends only, a forgotten item can cost you a half days work.

I'm home this weekend but my yard looks like no one has lived here for months, (been gone 3 of the last 4 weekends) so needless to say I'm a busy boy.

We have the Calgary Stampede every year.10 days of rodeo events and rides.Most commercial places hold free Stampede breakfasts and BBQ's.

Our company just informed us that the annual Stampede BBQ will feature a smokey for 4 dollars, 1 pop and a handful of chips for 1 dollar and any additional smokeys will be 2 dollars.

It's a company event FFS! Once per year and they want us to pay??????:x


It's embarrassing as well as insulting.I can hardly wait to very publicly RSVP and say - I'm sorry, I can't afford 10 dollars for a Stampede company lunch, I'll go down to Walmart's FREE breakfast instead.Fuck you very much.

I think I'm going to buy a package of wieners and some buns...bring them over to where the BBQ is being held and throw them on the grill in front of the world.

When asked, I'll tell them I work in the warehouse and can't afford the 'company function'.Then I'll ask if they'll be charging me for the propane used.....

That's insane! I've never ever heard of anything like that before.

I have never had to pay to attend any company function ever, at any company I have worked for. And the one I work for now is the smallest I ever worked for and they probably do more than any big company I worked for. They buy us lunch at least once a month and they either have a Christmas party at a local restaurant or they give us all gift cards at some restaurant for us to use whenever we want.

Every year at the Stampede they come out with new Midway food.Last year it was beer flavored ice cream...this year it's Pork Chop Bigger Than Your Head, Deep Fried Oreos and pancake and bacon flavored ice cream.

I've closed up for a day and taken the girls on a spa day, and I’m already planning the next outing, they work really hard and deserve a treat now and then, besides, it’s a really good opportunity for the team to spend time together without the hassle of work getting in the way, makes for a great working environment too.

My east Indian buds tell me that drinking a warm glass of water 3-5 times a week is good for you.Not from the tap, boil some and let it cool.
Apparently it helps them and their kids feel better when stomach bugs hit.

idk...I've had some problems and I'm not sure I'd give a young child warm water when their tummy and bowels are not cooperating.

Actualy warm water is not a bad idea.. The theory behind it is if it is the same temp as your body it will not be recognized as an invader..
