An Ohio woman who faked labor complications to escape the cops sure had a creative way to resist arrest. But not only was it unsuccessful, she got in more trouble for doing it.

Police tracked down Tamala Grissett after she was accused of stealing almost $1,300 from a local Macy's. When they arrived at her home she gave a fake ID, then threatened to kill one of the officer's and file a false abuse complaint.

When that didn't work, she told the officers she was in pain and having pregnancy complications.

Turns out, she might not even be pregnant, according to the Huffington Post.

The idea of faking an injury and escaping at the hospital is kind of creative but it was poorly executed.

Grissett escaped police at the hospital where they brought her but she was found a block away at a nearby McDonalds. Not the best escape attempt.

For her 'pains,' Grissett will face a lot more charges.

She was charged with theft, escape, aggravated menacing, and obstructing official business. The first charge came from the original crime. The other three are because of her behavior when the cops showed up.

It appears that this Ohio woman forgot the golden rule of police encounters.

In general it's always better to cooperate with police even if you believe that they are in the wrong. Make note of anything you think is improper and talk it over with your attorney later.

Resisting arrest or otherwise harassing police just leads to more charges which may make it harder to rid yourself of bogus claims.

Tamala Grissett may have faked labor for a temporary escape but now this woman won't be going anywhere. She's currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Yeah. No pregnant woman in the middle of labor would be caught dead in a McDonalds. They all go to Burger King instead.
