A woman was arrested Sunday after she took her 5-year-old son to a hospital with deep cuts on his legs and told police that she had spanked him with a bag full of glass, an arrest report shows.
Alicia Anne Croney, 24, told police that her son screamed and started bleeding after she lightly hit him with a bag she had pulled from the trash as punishment for playing video games when he was not allowed, the report says.
She said she had just thrown away glass from a broken jar but did not know that the bag had shards in it, the report says.
Doctors at the hospital called police because it would have taken "some force" to cut the boy as deep as his wounds were, the report says.
The boy needed surgery on both legs, according to the report.
Croney was booked into the Tulsa Jail on a complaint of child abuse. Her bail was set at $50,000.
