NESHANNOCK, Pa. —

Neshannock Township police said a woman upset over a parking spot scratched another woman's car with her keys and then backed her vehicle into the woman.

According to the police report, Nancy Bartsch, 74, of New Castle, became irate after a woman pulled into a spot in a Giant Eagle parking lot Friday morning on Wilmington Road..

Police said when the 23-year-old victim returned from shopping in the grocery store, Bartsch approached her vehicle and used her keys to scratch it.

Investigators said the victim got out her car and told Bartsch that she was going to call police. Police said the victim got behind Bartsch's car to get her license plate number, and that's when she put her car in reverse and hit the victim.

“The victim went to get a picture on her phone of the lady’s license plate, and while she was doing that, the elderly female put it in reverse and backed into her,” Neshannock police Lt. John Rand said.

The victim suffered a minor back injury. She was checked out at an area hospital and released.

Shoppers at the Giant Eagle on Monday were surprised when Channel 11’s Brittny McGraw told them what had happened.

“Most people would be upset, but not take it to that level,” shopper Rotua Lumbantobing said. “I was very surprised. Maybe she just had a very bad day. It’s possible.”

Bartsch, who denied doing anything wrong, was charged with reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.
