Of course you need to remove the entire bumper to do this. Why do I have a feeling I may be driving to work tomorrow without a bumper. Fuck you Infinity

Oh I forgot I had two bulb options. One that was 12.99 and the other $99  I don't know which I have but I'm sure its the more expensive one. I had to buy both and then take back the one I don't need.

That's what I'm thinking now. Plus its 100 here right now. I need to wait for it to cool down before I attempt it. I'm sure if I out it off I'll get pulled over the way this months been going.

a last chance saloon garage.... it seems we get problem jobs that have been looked at by other garages and they can't fix them. I thought I'd seen the last of that when I left the main dealers

Im getting my brakes done on Monday, Im just going to have them throw it in then. I thought I had changed the bulb before, but I guess I was thinking of the Pathfinder which was easy, just reach behind the case unlock the bulb put in a new one and done. I found a video on youtube on what to do but its more effort then I feel like putting into it

Ford used to have a controlling share in the company. Not since 2010 though. They only have 3%.

I was just reading instructions and they're saying you have to get to 4 screws to take the bumper and the front grill off, and I'm thinking, "Really? All I have to do with my Honda is pop the hood." I believe that's all I ever had to do with any of the cars my family has owned.

Its 6 "pop out" plastic screws on top and 10 actual screws underneath the bumper. I found one that said turn the wheel out and undo the cover that separates the tire and the engine and pull it back then you can get to it. But I think you need to jack it up and even then people are saying its a real tight fit.

The next time you buy a car, your litmus test is gonna be "how do you change the headlight lightbulbs? If it's hard I'm not buying it."

other than the mondeo, if you take awat the body panels and the interior, they're the same cars

You would be surprised how many manufacturers are going that route. especially with the HID bulbs, they don't want the consumer messing with them.

correct, but at least the models Ford sell in europe mostly share platforms with the Mazda range. And I think they still share or trade a lot of parts and designs regardless of the reduced mutual share packages

The lights are meant to last the life of the vehicle so they don't make them very accessible.

Thats where I was at :) Thanks anyway. I'm getting my brakes done today and they will have it jacked up and the tires off anyway, you can get to the lights from behind when the tires off, so Im going to have them swap 'em out for me.

not at all....I seriously didn't see this and started tearing mine apart at around 630...couldn't do shit by myself and then had my Pa help me around 10 pm when he got home.

3 people and myself see that the whole left brake light bank is out, I rip mine apart, check all 5 bulbs, everything looks fine and just ended up putting it back together. Works so far....

I knew with my car, after driving it on roads following gravel trucks for the first 15 years of its life would need new headlight lenses. So when I was moved to a different office, I had 'em done by a bodyshop. $50 for used parts and $200 for labour!

Glad I did it, because now my car is 20 years old and the parts availability has dried up (a Nissan). They say with the Tsunami and the resulting catastrophe, Nissan had a subsiduary factory that was nearly wiped out - they told me it was a lot of the old parts were destroyed and retooling and remaking the parts is not in the equation.

So guys, don't buy an old Nissan - the parts availability will be crap from mother Japan!!!

I had toyed with the idea of bringing it back to new specs (wouldn't take much) and getting collector plates when it turns 25 but now, with no parts available, dunno how I can.

I can buy a replacement sun visor but for $80 used and I must ship it from Toronto!!! I'd be better off doing what my buddy did and buy a 45 year old MGB and restoring it -- it'd be cheaper!
