Rosie O'Donnell knows she's one of the lucky ones.

The talk show host took to her website Monday to reveal she suffered a serious heart attack just last week. (A rep for the star tells Us Weekly she's now "home and resting comfortably.")

O'Donnell, 50, recounts how she helped a woman out of her car while running errands August 14 -- and how a few hours after lifting her, she felt "an ache in my chest, both my arms were sore, everything felt bruised."

The comedian initially brushed off her symptoms, thinking she had pulled a muscle. But then, "I became nauseous, my skin was clammy," O'Donnell writes. "I googled 'Women's heart attack symptoms.' I had many of them. But really? -- I thought -- naaaa."

As a precautionary measure, O'Donnell took some aspirin ("Thank God, saved by a TV commercial," she writes.) Still, "I did not call 911. 50% of women having heart attacks never call 911 [and] 200,000 women die of heart attacks every year in the U.S."

"By some miracle I was not one of them," O'Donnell confesses.

The next day, a trip to a cardiologist revealed just how serious her condition was.

"The doctor did an EKG and sent me to the hospital where a stent was put in. My LAD [left anterior descending coronary artery] was 99% blocked," she explains. "They call this type of heart attack the Widow maker. I am lucky to be here."

O'Donnell's fiancee, Michelle Rounds, is currently dealing with serious health issues as well; in early August, Rounds, whom O'Donnell calls "Mish" was diagnosed with rare Desmoid tumors.
