Tampa Bay, Florida - Richard Anthony Owen's weekend was off to a rough start. On the evening of August 17, 2012, he was arrested and charged with trespassing by the Tampa police. After spending less than an hour of his Friday night in jail, Richard was released at 1:00 AM on Saturday morning.

Since the night was still young, Richard decided to try and salvage the evening. But first, he needed some wheels. Instead of going home or calling a friend, however, Richard looked around and realized that he was surrounded by cars that he could potentially use...in the jail's parking lot.

Meanwhile, a deputy was walking through the lot when he noticed Richard attempting to open the locked door of a Pontiac GTO. When he asked what was going on, Richard explained that the car belonged to a friend of his...and that he was breaking into it for him.

Unfortunately for Richard, his airtight alibi was completely deflated when the deputy revealed that the car actually belonged to another police officer.

Richard Owens was arrested (again) and charged with auto burglary. He is currently being held on $5,000 bond.
