If The Situation has anything to do with it, he'll be saying sayonara to Jersey Shore (and the small screen) pretty soon.

Believe it or not, Mike Sorrentino wants to be a movie star.

"Hopefully by the end of the year I'll be in a movie," he told me today in Dallas, where's he's pre-partying for the Super Bowl. "There's only so long you can rule the reality world."

So when exactly is he planning to quit the hit MTV show?

"Maybe another year or so of reality, and then I'm gonna graduate to movies," the Reebok ZigTech spokesdude explained to me, after wrapping up a guest spot on Jamie Foxx's Sirius radio show. "It's like Michael Jordan. There's only so long you can keep winning them rings."

Not sure we'd compare the Jersey Shore star to a basketball legend, but OK.

"You gotta move on and try something different," the other Mike continued. "I love to be in front of the camera; I love performing; I love entertaining so movies is definitely the next step."

But before The Situation can try to take over the big screen, he's shooting season four of his MTV show in Italy. It will be his very first time in the country.

"I'm actually gonna get me some Rosetta Stone," he told me of his plans before the trip, "I got two months to learn it. My name comes from Italy so I've got a little bit of heritage there. Plus maybe I can get a hometown Italian chick."

For anyone wondering what kind of girl it would take to make The Situation settle down, he says she doesn't have to be the hottest girl ever.

"I would love to find me a girl with a good personality...sweet, generous, beautiful, but beautiful in my eyes. She may not be beautiful in somebody else's eye but as long as she's beautiful in my eyes that's cool. I would love that."

As long as she's not a grenade!

This crap is mind-boggling. It's like watching a lottery winner flush their money.

Why can't he just accept his 15 minutes is going spectacularly well? Jersey Shore is one of the biggest shows on TV, he's getting great money and they can probably suck 5+ seasons out of it.

I'd ride that wave out as opposed to nosediving with a bad movie. It's just hard to believe with all that money, he doesn't have anyone working for him smart enough to say "listen dipshit, you have no talent, you got lucky. Get rich enough that you'll never have to work again and don't over-play your hand as the meme of the early 2010's"

I guess the answer to my question is that he really is that dumb and that egotistical that he thinks he's the "Brad Pitt" kind of celeb instead of the "Octomom" type that he really is.
