Every year since the first plane hit the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 in New York City at 8:46 a.m., a moment of silence has been observed in remembrance, but on this anniversary NBC's TODAY show decided to skip the silence in favor of airing an interview with Kris Jenner.

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama led the White House in a moment of silence on Tuesday, while the NYPD, FDNY and Port Authority Police observed at Ground Zero, and most of the major cable network morning shows like Good Morning America carried it — but not NBC.

Instead, the TODAY show aired an interview with Keeping Up With The Kardashians matriarch Kris Jenner, who spoke about the new season of the show and her breast implants.

People immediately took to Twitter to voice their disapproval:

"The Today Show has Kris Jenner on, no mentions of 9/11. Is 11 years the expiration date of caring? Terrible," one user tweeted.

Another wrote, "The fact that Kris Jenner is a guest on the today show on 9/11 seriously makes me doubt humanity."

"The Today Show chose to continue their interview with Kris Jenner rather than participate in a 9.11 moment of silence. DISGUSTING," the tweets go on.

"Nice Today Show. During moment of silence for first 9/11 tower hit, in interview with Kris Jenner about Kardashians. DIdn't cut away."
