Raleigh has a budget line too -- be careful and watch where it's manufactured. A lot of badge engineering in the bike industry. Best you immerse yourself in a forum or two and a magazine or two as well.

not gunna lie, its mostly going to be ridden on the road, but it will get used on the odd trail. Only looking at spending about £500 so all I'm concerned about is not buying one with duff bits. I've been looking at some forums and tbh, like computers, because the bikes don't particularly interest me, the stuff I read doesn't sink in, so I could be reading shit all day and be none the wiser :facepalm:
