KOSCUISKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - Police found a severely drunk man in his car on the side of the road after he ran out of gas early Sunday morning.

Police said Bradley Wine, 28, of North Webster, had a dangerous Blood Alcohol Concentration of .548% when they found him inside of his car at County Rd. 250 East and LaPoint Drive at around 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Investigators believe his car ran out of gas and he stayed in it and continued drinking until Officers found him when they responded to a call of an abandoned vehicle.

Wine was taken to the Kosciusko Community Hospital in very serious condition.

Most studies say that BAC levels of .50% or greater are normally fatal. The legal limit in Indiana is .08%.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies said the blood lab test results and information from the scene will be forwarded to the Kosciusko County Prosecutors' Office for potential charges related to the incident.

The ironically-named Mr. Wine obviously ascribes to the "The only excuse for coming home half-drunk is running out of money" school of philosophy.

Obviously he was sober until he ran out of gas and just drank to stay alive.

why didn't he just pee into the tank? It's probably no different from ethanol fuel

So, if the vehicle is out of fuel, rendering it inoperable, is it still a DWI to be drunk while in it?
