Rapidly fallingout of love with Skyrim. I'm using face impovement and hair mods, what can i say if im going to spend hours staring at someone they might as well be worth staring at, as soon as i hit the last steam update suddenly my girls head vanished. Since i killed my horse for being annoying that would make her the headless pedestrian, strangely if i werewolf transform when she comes back shes got her head again but as soon as a switch off then fire it up the next day her heads gone again.

Weird and slightly annoying. On the other hand i'm going slightly stupid with the wabbajack, pity it doesnt work on dragons :lol:

I only use 2 because of that reason.....better night skies and QD inventory system. I've tried some player home dwellings but the chests and storage units are kinda dodgy in those...things have a habit of disappearing :shock:

I'm on my 3rd playthrough as a fighter/archer guy and I still love it. I didn't start the quest that initializes the dragons so I'm wandering around in a dragon-free environment for now which is relaxing.

I keep forgetting I'm a still a low level guy and snow saber cats and trolls are handing me my ass with great regularity :lol:

It's called The Dark Eye - Chains of Satinav. It's a point & click adventure game and I love it.

I'm currently accompanied by an elf and a crow, we are surrounded by Orcs and must find a way to distract them so we can steal their shizzle.

I'm at hour 309, third created character. I've made archer/fighters each time so I don't even know what being a magic user entails :lol:

Quick answer - There are main quests, side quests and what they call radiating quests, which are randomly generated. I'm sure you can finish the game by visiting every point on the map, but that's only part of the adventure. You tan leather, make and upgrade armor, create food and potions....what's cool is that the game upgrades your stats based on what actions you've taken, meaning if you use a bow constantly, your archery and armor levels go up, not your illusion or magic abilities.

I've spent hours just body surfing the rivers and climbing (and falling) in the mountains :)

I chose a Breton because of the 25% magic resistance and apparently later in the game this is very useful.

Also I just tried to take on a frost troll and got raped.

Add mammoths to the lists of creatures that rape me.

Yeah my only issue with this game is when you have to get to the top of a mountain, you can't take just any path because most will lead to a place you can no longer ascend higher. Just spent 20 minutes running circles around a mountain. ;/

I do this weird mountain climbing thing....going down at a slight angle or even parallel with the ground constantly using the jump button, as long as you keep leaning into the direction, you will rarely fall. I've skirted a few impassable mountains this way..

Aye, I tried the mod out and it only lets you join a server based on your geographical location, so we wouldn't be able to play together. My nearest server is populated by zee Germans and le French.

Spend some time making weapons and playing around with the enchanting table, that'll pay off big time. Also if your hunting Giants find a nice high spot and shoot them from sneak, its evil and you have to take your time but it works until you can build up your stats.

So far i'm on level 56, maxed out archer and single handed and i've started concentrating on magic, dual wielding icestorms is a laugh but having frostrune or firerune is better, something nasty comes after you, lay those in your path and wait for the bad guy to run over the magic landmines, it works every time.

And on the plus side after a steam update and syncronsiation i got my head back :thumbsup:

@ Lambchop....yes the Esbern door thing is a recognized bug. If you're on the pc, you may want to try some console cheats. I believe one that worked was 'setstage blah blah blah', which simply advances that quest to certain checkpoints

I won't use any texture mod really (Except for characters) My computer won't handle it :lol:. What I will probably get is added content (House, town, armor set etc)

I get a cracked version to see if my computer can run it...all goes well, then I buy the real version (Steam) then BOOM crashes to desktop right at the first loading screen (After you select New/Load) No mods installed.

Could be a lot of reasons you're getting the blackscreen Sam...everything from Steam, to maybe the laptop not having enough juice to run the game and it's just saying no.

I'm not sure on the recommended specs but I do know that Skyrim uses both vidcard and processor.

The problem is not the computer itself (Or the cracked version wouldn't work too) and it doesn't not give a black screen...it just goes back to the desktop with no error (I could still use the cracked one...I'm just pissed off at spending 60$ for it if it doesn't work.

Steam is definitely the problem but if I was "busted" they would have told me...not just a CTD (at the exact same place every single time)

Yup, it bypasses steam itself...(custom launcher)
weird thing is that other games in steam are working but not Skyrim (Counter strike source/ Goldeneye Source)

Took a break after i stripped down the PC and reset it to factory standard. Went back to playing some old school Age of Empires 2 while everything updated.

And for a softwawr quirk, back in the early days of the game after Skjor got killed i looted his body.

A month later i'm standing outside Morthul and his dead body just snailed past, still stone cold dead and sliding along the ground and over the horizon. So much for meeting random companions on patrol :lol:

Oh my how to explain.....Ok, in Skyrim there's a certain amount of people that will become your followers. They will fight with you and carry your shit. There are also servants that sit in your house called House Carls. They just sit around and eat your food. House carls can become your followers and help you fight. And finally there are certain women that you can marry...they basically sit at your place and make sammiches, then eventually they start up a store and give you money every month...

I won't be playing any Skyrim soon if Bethesda doesn't wake up! :mad: (And by wake up I mean releasing Dawnguard for the PS3! ) I'm REALLY sick and tired of how Bethesda are treating their PS3 customers! It is out for the PC and Xbox but because they can't do shit right with the PS3, they are making us wait even more.) All the major companies making games have no issues with the console itself so why should they??? (The hardware is stronger on the PS3 overall compared to the Xbox360, bigger CPU, and the same RAM, but the only difference and that is where I think is the problem, on the PS3 its 256MBx2 and the xbox its 512MBx1)

The game itself is disc-based, the DLC goes on the Hard Drive of the console. Part of the game itself is on the HDD as you said (Patches can't be on the disc, obviously :lol: )
They said they are "not satisfied yet with Dawnguard’s performance on the PS3" right now and could not release it at the same time as the PC, so it doesn't give much indications on what is the problem :lol:.

I could amp Skyrim up with 20 graphics mods being on the pc.....and I don't.


Keeping two mods throughout the entire time I've played it has really helped recognizing other faults when things go wrong. One night the game was slowing down during interior play in dungeons, next night it was fine.

One night it blackscreened and crashed to the desktop a couple of times, next night it was fine.

That indicates to me that it was a Steam thing in the background, as I keep my graphics settings static and don't add 15 mods a night :lol:

I only use iron arrows....cowl that gives me 35% on hits, bracers that give me 25%, top of the line ebony bow and 100th level archer

Just started a game for PC called Arcanum. It's a little old, but it's a really fun open-world RPG. It's like Fallout 2 and Daggerfall were smushed together, slightly updated (it came out the year before Morrowind) and sprinkled with steampunk dust. I'm not very far into it and haven't explored all of facets like potions and spells, but I'd still recommend it by what I have seen.

Nah, it's an MMORPG. It's like World of Warcraft but with different dynamics.

My favorite part is that PVP is always fair. All PVPers become max level and have identical weapon stats when they enter a PVP zone. That means the 16 yr old that plays 8 hours a day and has all the best equipment gets zero advantage over someone who plays a couple hours a week.

Well THANK GOD that they made the cap at level 80 on Guild Wars 2!!! :D (Level 20 was the cap in GW1...too low IMO )
I'm still debating if I should install Windows or Linux on my SSD (Buying an MSI GT70) Comes with a 750GB HDD and a 256GB SSD
Windows will be there only for gaming, and the SSD doesn't help at all with gaming (except loading times...but not much really)...
BTW YES I know gaming laptops are twice the price of desktops, I can't use desktops much (Can't sit for a long time) Not that problem with laptop. (Putting your desktop computer beside your bed...not really easy to do! :lol:

Oblivion had a DLC mod that plunked a castle down in the NE of the map....I tried it. Sure I owned everything there but there wasn't much going on :lol:

I was not really an "Elder Scrolls" fan before Skyrim TBH...had Oblivion but didn't play it much so what you just said is exactly what I did with Oblivion :lol:
But Skyrim...once you get in it...there is no way out :shock:...Ask Hal if you don't believe me :lol:

Truth

I am looking forward to Elder Scrolls Online. They have created a universe that befits the online gaming style. As long as they stick to their own Bethesda style and not try to be like any other games, specifically be a WoW killer, I think they could make a phenomenal game.

Never mind, it was my problem not theirs. Its L1 and constant pressure on x not L1 and tap x, no wonder my guy was spasmoing around and falling off the scenery when he should have been running.

OKgood graphics, not sold on the weapons and play yetits still way too dark to see everywhere you ought to be going.
I'm willing to give it a shot now.

I normally don't make a new character, I just use the "change race spell mod" to change the race/sex etc... :lol: ( I did the make storyline 4 times already...I don't feel like doing it again :lol: )
